4-LINES VS. 2-LINES
The main two lines on any power kite are used for steering. If you pull the left line, the power kite goes left. If you pull the right line, the power kite goes right.
On four-line power kites like this Sting, there are two additional lines that are attached to the trailing edge (rear) of the kite. These are the brake lines. The brake lines are used for reducing the amount of kite power. You tend to find brake lines on larger power kites where the power sometimes needs to be controlled in stronger winds.
As a side note, the lines won't tangle easily so please don't be put off by the number of lines.
